I’ve read at least five posts on Twitter today;

SXSW Showdown: Dodgeball Vs. Twitter

All-a-Twitter

Twittervision has even held my attention for longer than it should have done. And after all this, I think I’ve found a recipe for social application success; make people feel more connected than ever before, even a little bit threatened by just how connected they’ve become (this bit is the key), encourage messages that would at least appear to be worthless, and bloggers will avidly post their concerns about your application’s potential to distract. If you can hit this sweetspot, you’ll hit the big time - the app will market itself through the blogosphere.

Believe it or not I’m still not signed up to Twitter; a) none of my friends are interested in new web apps, they use them when they hit the mainstream, b) I would only want to Twitter on things that really matter to me, at least intially. Is there anyone out there who wants to set up a special interest Twitter group? Let’s say a group related to the latest points of interest in web technology, development, and business? At least we’d have a common interest for our Twittering.

    In our experience Twitter can become a nice component of a bigger social media campaign. But it needs to be integrated with other tools (blogging from your own domain being one of them of course.)
